Sculptasse and SEED (Slum Education and Empowerment Drive) Foundation celebrated Children’s Day with fun filled activities in Hiranandani, Powai on Tuesday, the 14th of November. More than 40 underprivileged kids between the age group of 7 to 12 years participated with members of Sculptasse in the event that lasted the whole day with fun activities like indoor dance, fitness and entertainment games. The kids were also gifted some stationery hampers by Sculptasse.

Currently, schools focus on developing only a certain type of intelligence, with emphasis on specific skills (sitting and learning, memorizing, verbalizing/analyzing). Sculptasse, and SEED Foundation believe that education should have more room for creativity and that students should not have more to do than memorize lengthy answers and repeat them verbatim in the examination. A more holistic approach to education is vital if we are to create and develop real talent. Performing arts provides a holistic approach to development by encouraging the use of all domains of intelligence. While it’s not necessary that every student who learns music and dance will become a world-renowned artist, the stimulation that performing arts provide is certain to have positive life-changing effects.

SEED Foundation is the fruit of the drive, vision, tireless efforts, grit, and will of Gauri Bhasin. It was founded in 2004 by Gauri Bhasin along with her husband, Shiv Bhasin, and Sulabha Pathak, with the aim of educating and empowering underprivileged kids from slum areas of Mumbai. SEED Foundation firmly believes that education is a key requisite for social and economic change in the life of these kids. There are many ways to support SEED FOUNDATION India—by volunteering to teach, by providing meals or donating toys, books, crayons etc. If you would like to know more and support the communities around Powai you can call Gauri Bhasin at +91-9819506989 or visit

Sculptasse, founded by Shivani Patel believes in changing the way people view fitness. Its vision is not focus on the body image and size, which is what the media and our culture unfortunately promotes, but fitness. Sculptasse aims to help its clients reach their fitness goals and fall in love with themselves while enjoying the process.

Gauri Bhasin said that Seed Foundation would like to sincerely thank Shivani Patel & all Sculptasse instructors & members for the wonderful time & gift hampers that the kids received. She was really impressed that Shivani Patel not only arranged for the event but also took it upon herself to pick & drop the kids, in almost 8–9 to & fro trips to Seed Foundation’s premises. This was truly an exemplary work by her for the community by bringing joy & smiles to many young faces.
