Powai saw three maestros of the music world grace the event and launch the album amidst pomp and celebration. The chief guest Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota launched the devotional album by mother daughter duo violinists Minoti Khaund and Sunita Khaund Bhuyan. The guests of honour were Grammy award winner Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and the singer with the golden voice Hariharan. The highlight of the evening was a performance by the mother daughter duo and singer Sanjeeta Khaund and veteran tabla player Pradeep Ghosh..The icing on the cake was a rendition of two special Bengali songs by Anup Jalota ending with his super hit Bhajan “aisi laagi Lagan” that brought the house down with everyone singing together. An iconic moment for Spandan Durga Puja when three such great maestros attended an event on the same stage . It showed the respect and regard the maestros had for Ma Durga and appreciation for Minoti and Sunita’s music.
This was keeping in mind the theme of “Ma Shakti” which the goddess Durga signifies and is composed in Raag Durga. This was for the Durga Puja celebration by Spandan foundation in Powai whose theme this year is on the girl child and womens empowerment. The music during Durga Puja before the goddess typically is to invoke the strenght and the energy of Ma Shakti for good over evil
Spandan President Biswajit Deb Said that “it was a privilege to have such great maestros visit the Pujo pandal and enjoy the music of the mother daughter duo. It was a perfect musical of the theme of Durga Amar”
The album has two orignal stutis compsoed by Minoti and sung by Sanjeeta Khaund and Sunita Khaund Bhuyan. This is followed by a rendition of Raag Durga in Hindustani classical style by the mother daughter duo on the violin
