Hvovi Bhagwagar is a Clinical Psychologist and trauma therapist, with over 17 years of experience in psychotherapy, mental health training, motivational speaking, research and supervision. She has recently been Awarded “Women’s Achiever 2017” by the Young Environmentalists for her work as a Trauma Therapist.
H’vovi is a private practitioner with her office, “MANASHNI” (which means “good thoughts” in Persian) at Powai, Mumbai. She is a Consultant with Oberoi International School, Bipolar India, RobinAge Newspapers and Human Dynamic, Asia. She has undergone specialty training at the premier BECK INSTITUTE, Philadelphia, in anxiety disorders and personality disorders. She has also received “International Affiliation” with the American Psychological Association (APA). Her study in 2017 on successful treatment of anxiety disorders with EMDR therapy was the first of its kind to be published in an International Journal.
She works with clients diagnosed with clinical depression, anxiety disorders, sexual and physical abuse, marital conflicts and academic difficulties. Her area of interest is in psychological trauma and she is trained to deal specifically with complex conditions such as dissociative disorders and borderline personality disorder. She also volunteers with NGOs to rehabilitate girls who are victims of human trafficking and child sexual abuse.
Hvovi also does freelance writing for Mumbai Mirror, Femina, Times Wellness, MidDay, The Week, Planet Powai, RobinAge, Parent & Child and New Woman. She has made several appearances as an Expert on various TV and radio shows giving opinions on relationship and mental health issues. She has recently appeared as a guest expert on the TV show “Ladies First” with Renuka Shahane and Ketaki Dave.

Her hobbies include spirituality, yoga, researching, writing on mental health, trying new recipes and travelling to spiritual destinations in India.
