In yesteryears, we used to celebrate important days and festivals with our families & entire neighbourhood with fun & frolic. In today’s modern and fast paced lifestyles especially in a megalopolis such as Mumbai, a large number of nuclear families have lost touch with social gatherings and are living a solitary life with an extent where lot of us don’t even know our next-door neighbours.
Keeping this in mind, this year on auspicious occasion of India’s 72 Independence Day, all Eden buildings of Hiranandani Gardens came together to organize “Eden Community Day Sports Events” for kids of Eden families.
The objective of this initiative was to create a platform for the members of Eden communities to come together and celebrate India’s Independence Day as well as increase interaction & sense of belonging among members.
The sports events saw kids from all Eden buildings of the age group of 2 years to 14 years participating in events such as colouring, theme-based drawing, Lemon on spoon race, Carrom, Badminton, table tennis, chess & swimming. There were 35 kids who participated in different events. Gold & silver medals were up for grabs for those who got 1st & 2nd position respectively.
The events were conducted in Eden 1, Eden 2, Eden 3 & Eden 4 premises on 11th & 12th August and the members of different buildings came forward in full support and extended whatever help they can to make these events memorable.
On 15th August, Flag hoisting ceremony was conducted in Eden 2/4 grounds where large number of members gathered and sang national anthem. The occasion was also graced by Mr Mukesh Rishi who is a well-known Bollywood personality & Hiranandani family member. After Flag hoisting, kids of Eden family also sang a patriotic song.
Post flag hoisting, Eden 2 premises hosted prize distribution ceremony where chief guest Mr Mukesh Rishi distributed Gold & Silver medals to kids who had won 1st & 2nd positions in different games conducted on 11th & 12th August. Parents of kids were seen clapping, whistling & jumping with joy when their kids went up to receive the prizes. Mukesh Rishi recited 2 lines and dedicated to all children’s of Eden community.
Manzilein, Unhiko milti hai, Jinkey Sapno main jaan hoti hai!
Pankh sey kuch nahi hota, Hoslaun sey Udaan hoti hai!
All in all, it was one of its kind initiative where members of Eden families came together & made the Independence Day memorable for one & all. There is a dire need to conduct such initiatives regularly to preserve the social fabric and sense of belonging as well as sensitivity towards fellow members in this Megalopolis called “Mumbai”.
Members of Eden family hope that in times to come, there will be more such events that will be conducted and other members of Hiranandani family will also join such initiatives that bring people together. After all what is the fun of living in a self-sustainable community with all resources!FOLLOW POWAI INFO ON YOUR PREFERRED SOCIAL NETWORK
