Chinmaya Mission’s ‘Free Birthday Havan’ Launched in Powai

Jagadeeshawa Zone, which is a local Powai Zone of Chinmaya Mission Temple which is next to Renaissance  Hotel at Powai started “Birthday Havan” for children of all schools in and around Powai.

All children having their birthday in a specific month are invited to a Birthday Havan on first Sunday of that month to the Powai Ashram for this Birthday Havan or  AAyush Havan. This is on every first Sunday of the month from 9.30 am to 11.30 am.  People can register for their birthday online by logging in to www.birthdayhavan.com and giving their date of birth. One can register in advance for any month when their birthday comes.

On March 13th, the first Free Group Birthday Havan was celebrated at the  Powai temple. After initial registration, bramachari student’s of Chinmaya Mission sang beautiful bhajans; This was followed by a small talk on the importance of Birthday Havan by MLP Rao the Acharya of Jagadeshware Zone of Chinmaya Mission.

This was followed by the Birthday Havan at the main Shiva Temple with the lighting of the yagna with holy fire and reciting the vedic mantras.

Many children who are celebrating their birthday this month keenly heard the Vedic Mantras and were impressed by the Havan. Kids also had lots of fun as many took selfies with Bal Krishna cutouts.

The Aayush Havan started by  invoking Lord Ganesha and Kul Devi and later concluded with poornahooti.

After the poornahooti the Panditji adorned the foreheads of all Birthday Children  with vibhooti from the Havan Kund and all were given Prasad and Bal Vihar Magzine.

This was followed by an introduction to balvihar, the free Sunday class for kids aged between 5 years and 12 years.

This has received a positive response from parents of Children of Powai, and many are registering on www.BirthdayHavan.com as there are limited seats for the Free Birthday Havan every month.
