I'm just back form attending the cycle rally at Powai, flagged off from Rodas Hotel,Hiranandani Gardens. This rally was organised by Y.E.P.T (Young Environmentalist Programme Trust) in association with Rodas Hotel and Hiranadani. This rally was held to commemorate the World Car Free Day.The Rally was flagged off from Rodas around 5pm and went all the way from Rodas,Haiko,Glen Heights, Forest Club,HFS, and back to Rodas. It was a very short rally, but nevertheless the car owners got the message seeing so many enthusiastic bikers.
There were short speeches by Mr. Joseph Reddy and Mr.Punish Sharma, and the traffic superintendent. I just wish there were more participants and kudos to Elsie Gabriel founder president of Y.E.P.T to initiate such a wonderful event. I hope to see much more of these initiatives where cycling is encouraged. I only wish Y.E.P.T could tie up with more cyclist around mumbai and Powai by tying up with website like www.cyclist.in , as sometimes these events look like a PR exercise rather than a initiative by the citizens.FOLLOW POWAI INFO ON YOUR PREFERRED SOCIAL NETWORK
