The Sahara Arts & Crafts 2010 Shopping Festival is on now until June 13 at the Durga Pooja Ground, Jal Vayu Vihar, located on Orchard Avenue in Hirandani Gardens, Powai. The shopping festival features a dazzling variety of handicraft and handloom products from all over India. Items for sale include pottery, clothing, jewellery, incense, pickles, cushion covers, paintings, shoes, mirrors, wooden items, and wooden furniture. Of course, the ubiquitous Pashmina shawls are there as well! Shop ’til you drop!

Maati is the new craft destination store opened in Powai Plaza, Hiranandani

The inspiration behind Maati, is the essence of nature and earth that’s imbibed into all handmade crafts in India. These crafts have traditionally employed sustainable materials and methods which have consistently proved friendly to man, animal and environment.

By translation traditional crafts into design that can be assimilated into daily lives, we aim to bring craft into mainstream. Our agenda through the Maati store is to create awareness amongst consumers on the uniqueness of handmade products and also encourage a culture of appreciation of these crafts amongst the urban consumers.

Culture Shop, an outlet in Powai, Mumbai, houses everything from stationery to home furnishing. Artifacts, earthenware, garments, jewelry and leather products are some of the items displayed.

A specialty is scented candles made from dry flowers and gel. Artifacts include a diverse collection of art and collectibles. Terracotta products like lampshades, divinity figures, ethnic stuff and murals are also available here.
