Karishma Chhabria, fondly known as Karry to friends & family, is no stranger to the world of glamour. With various modelling assignments, Balaji television programmes, fashion shows and magazine features to her name; she’s now set to add another feather in her cap.
Our very own Powai girl has made it as a Top Finalist for Haut Monde Mrs India Worldwide 2017 competition!
The prestigious pageant brings together beautiful aspirants from India and Indians residing overseas on a single platform. While the final show will be held in Delhi on August 5th, the contestants are soon heading to Vietnam for a series of training, shoots and preliminary judging rounds.
“I can’t decide if I’m excited or nervous!” exclaimed a very-obviously excited Karishma. “This is such a huge opportunity and I’ve met some of the contestants in the various workshops held across the city so I know winning this is going to be very challenging. They’re fabulous, gorgeous women, and now friends too!”
Standing tall at 5’7 with a svelte figure and a charming smile, Karishma admits she’s always been attracted to everything glamorous, “Bollywood dancing as a kid, fashion shows in college, participating on TV shows or even performing at building functions – I’m right there in the forefront. I even joined the airline industry for a bit but this is definitely the highlight for me.”
Karishma is very dedicated to her Workout regime and Diet. She believes “Healthy eating and Working out is a Lifestyle and not just a temporary fix.”
There’s more to her than meets the eye. A commerce graduate, Karishma runs her own corporate training company and is also an Image Consultant. She has been married for over ten years and has an adorable 8 year old son who studies in Hiranandani International School.
When asked what made her decide to join this pageant now, she responded with a shrug, “I’ve always wanted to participate in a beauty pageant and kept thinking someday I’ll do it. And then one day, I had a sort of an epiphany that this is it. My someday is here.”
Well, we’re keeping our fingers crossed. We hope to have a Mrs India from Powai. Maybe our someday is here too.
