Away from the hustle of Adi Sankaracharya Marg in Powai, is the path that leads to Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, the worldwide headquarters of Chinmaya Mission. It’s an oasis of serenity amidst the bustling city.
In the premises, is the beautiful hilltop temple of Jagadeeshwara which is thronged by millions of visitors and devotees from all over the world especially during Mahashivarathri.
A few metres from the main entrance of the Mission, on your right, a board reads ” The first of its kind Outdoor Vedantic Vision Park reflecting the knowledge of Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, and Hindu culture through the life and work of H.H.Swami Chinmayananda.”
It looks like a fenced garden from outside but you are about to enter a life transforming journey through the door that has CHINMAYA PRADEEP written in decorative fonts.
And what do you see?
Directly opposite the entrance is a hyperrealistic silicon statue of H.H.Swami Chinmayananda that would leave you mesmerised. You rush to offer your pranams and then slowly start absorbing the environment around you.
The gurgling sound of flowing water, an occasional bird song, the rustle of leaves, the melodious music in the background all soothe your senses.
