“I thought one day when I was contemplating directing an experimental play, why not give my actors & myself a chance to perform exactly what I am going through at this point in time of my life?
Why not let people watch what I go through as an ‘aspiring’ actor” says Noel Manasseh who studied acting at the Film & TV Institute of India, Pune & has been in Mumbai since 2007. He has been actively involved with theatre & has been in plays like “Chugaddham Symphony”: a Brecht musical & “2 Blind Mice”: an adaptation of Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot”.
Actors Anonymous was his initiative & “POP! Goes the Weasel” is the group’s first play & has been on the road for a year now, with performances in Goa & Mumbai.
Out of the Blue Powai brings this satirical take on entertainment industry in which the characters are totally self-centered & pre-occupied with their careers; scrambling for fame & the flashbulb in the movie-theatre race.
This will be the first ever theatrical event at Out of the Blue Powai and with this they launch the “theatre” part under their ever exciting mood of “Something’s always happening.” Mondays are still funny with “Monday Night Comedy” and Tuesdays are fun with “Karaoke Bar Nights.”
“POP! Goes the Weasel” is the ‘aspiring’ actor: unmasked! It is the actor performing for you, his life, in its most naked & vulnerable moments of wanting to be a performer…
So take your seats well in time for an interesting dramatics display on 11th December 2011 at 5 pm at Out of the Blue, Powai.
