SUVARNA TEMPLE is also known as Nine mother children temple is indeed a unique temple in its own. Located amidst the beauty of Powai this temple has lot of serenity and calm. The ‘Nine Mother Children’ temple is one of the oldest holy places in Powai. This temple was evolved in 1957, but the prathista and other ritual ceremony were performed on 1963. Here you can find all the almighties from all the communities-Hindus, Muslim, Chirsten. So the restriction is not imparted on any caste to enter inside the premises. Here all the caste and religion are treated one and the same.
‘Nine Mother’ here indicates the nine goddess – Shree Laxmi Devi, Shree Nag Devi, Shree Saraswathi Devi, Shree Nav Durga Devi, Shree Rakteshwari Devi and the Mother Mary. Other powers are also placed they are Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, Shree Khandoba, Shree Balaji, Shree Sai Baba, Shree Shani Dev, Shree Hanuman and the Nav Grah. The temple creates the atmosphere of harmony and beauty to the approach of life and its varities. Spritual and cultural activities were organized to revive the ancient tradition to build a bridge amongst different customs and sectors.
