Overall the Hakone Go Karting track is an interesting place to go to if you are a driving enthusiast. The track is not really very big…a part of the track is closed……I was told that it opens up only during racing events…and that could be a little disappointing when you realize that you actually get to screech and burn rubber for barely a few seconds after an hour long drive to reach there. But then it could be a refreshing change considering that the hour long drive was spent honking your way through clogged roads at a snail’s pace.

Beginners would be well advised to take passes for 4 laps initially so as to get a hang of things. Once you have an idea of how the cart handles on the track, go for more. And once you’re done, take off your racing helmets and cool off with a few drinks at the friendly cafe alongside the track. And the staff is courteous and polite. The only regret as I mentioned earlier, is that the track itself is small and the whole thing’s over before you really get to warm up. But then for those with a passion for speed….I guess the quicker – the better :-)
